DAY-01
BANGALORE-MYSORE
Bangalore is the capital of
Karnataka. It is called the Garden City for it's delicate blossoms
and greenery that impart a unique beauty to this lovely city. The
weather is the city's best feature, with pleasant summers and
bearable winters. Bangalore is a cosmopolitan city, where
different cultures and customs exist. Kempe Gowda founded the city
in 1537 - today it is a bustling and diverse city, with ancient
arts that flourish alongside the Silicon Plateau of India
This morning you will be given the city tour of Bangalore.
Later leave Bangalore for Mysore by road.
Mysore is a city of
palaces, gardens, shady avenues and sacred temples and retains
some of the charm of the old world with its many institutions that
propagate Carnatic Classical music and dance. Mysore was the
political capital of the Wodeyar dynasty which ruled the state of
Karnataka for some 150 years till the independence of the country
from the British. These kings were great patrons of art and
culture and Mysore was the cultural capital of the south under the
rule of the Wodeyars. The Wodeyars made the Dasara festival an
event.

DAY-02
MYSORE

The Jewel
Crown of Karnataka The capital city of great Wodeyars, legendary
Kings, is a dream city where a rich culture is preserved to this
day in its magnificent palaces. Beautifully laid out gardens,
imposing buildings, broad avenues and exquisite temples. The
Palace dominates the center of the city and is indeed fairytale
spectacle. An extraordinary amalgam of styles from India and
around the world crowds the lavish interior, along with a gallery
of European and Indian objects.
Marvel at the 4,8m tall
monotith, Nandi, a celestial bull at the 12th century.
Chamundeshwari temple atop the Chamundi Hill, in the mythological
books there is a reference of Mahishasur or the Buffalo headed
demon King who is believed to have lived here, Goddess
Chamundeshwari of Chamundi hills killed this demon there.

DAY-03 MYSORE-HASSAN

Leave Mysore for Hassan
by road.
HASSAN
Hassan is a
picturesque town in the heart of malnad with a pleasant climate,
is about 180 KM from Bangalore, the capital city of Karnataka. The
Hoysalas brought world wide acclaim to the district through their
unique style of Architecture

DAY-04 HASSAN-BANGALORE
Morning after
breakfast visits Belur: The soapstone temple of Belur dates back
to the 12th century. It's exterior shows a variety of intricate
carved sculpture and friezes: the interior contains several
exquisite panes and richly carved pillars. An amazing piece is a
frieze depicting different bhavas of the Bharatnatyam dance form.
The elaborate details could only be carved because soapstone is so
soft when it is first quarried and only hardens after a period of
exposure to air.
Later leave for Bangalore by road.
Arrive Bangalore and you will be transferred to the
airport/railway station.
